This American Home™ by Yankee Candle® collection is a brand new line of affordable fragrances, from Yankee Candle, for the home.

Today feels like reveal day in more ways than one. And, I’m excited to tell you about it, because it means new things for me, and new things for you. 🙂

So, first things first. The one thing I’ve never told you is…I love home decorating and entertaining almost as much as I love cooking and baking. Surprised? Seeing the various decorating pieces I can get for my home is brilliant to look forward to, from tapestries to ornaments, there is a lot to choose from and transform your home with.

It’s true. I adore my home. I like to call my home a safe place, and somewhere that is full of love all year round. I have so much love for my home that I’m struggling to put it into words. So, that’s why I do everything in my power to make sure that I protect it, as well as those who are inside it at all times. I’m even thinking about looking into having security alarms, similar to Verisure Smart Alarms incorporated into my home, so I can be alerted of any intrusion and disturbance in my sacred place at a moment’s notice. I would hate for any harm to come to it. You are willing to go to any lengths when you love something that much. For me, home is where the heart is…

It’s where I feel grounded, and surround myself with beautiful things that I love. Some of these things could be flowers, beautiful antique furniture – similar to those from somewhere like antiquesworld.co.uk – or scented candles. Which also means that I love a fragrant home. I think a fragrant home is a comforting home. Don’t you agree?With my busy schedule, I don’t entertain nearly as often as I’d like to, but when I do, it’s an all out affair. Candles are burning, lights are being dimmed, the table is being set and food is being prepared.

As part of the ritual, I hand-make every appetizer, entree and dessert, so my guests can enjoy and relax, while they have a leisurely night away from home. Often, this means they aren’t allowed to help clean-up or do dishes either. It’s my way of saying how much I appreciate them, and their company, and less about putting them to work. You want to come over now, don’t you? 🙂

Because of my love of entertaining, I’ll be sharing more posts focused on the ‘entertain’ part of my tagline. I’m really excited about this change so that I can share more of the things I love.

The 2nd thing I’m excited to reveal is the pre-launch announcement of the new American Home™ by Yankee Candle® collection that is launching in Walmart stores on August 1, 2015. This collection will offer affordable fragrances from Yankee Candle for the home.

I love that they are a long-lasting, full fragrance from the top of the candle to the bottom. These candles are made from a premium-grade paraffin wax that delivers a clean, consistent burn and have lead-free, 100% natural fiber wicks that are hand straightened to ensure it is centered for the best burn possible.

My favorite will be the large 19 oz. Apothecary Jar Candles, which will retail for $14.93. This is the type I burn in my kitchen because I love the comforting flick of the flame. My kitchen = my relaxing place.

But throughout the rest of my home, I burn wax cubes, in several burners throughout the house, in nearly every room. For example, I love burning wax cubes while writing in my home office. The scent just makes me feel so relaxed. To be honest, my home office is probably one of my favorite rooms in the whole house. It is decorated to my own style, and I have so many lovely pieces of furniture in there. In fact, I could spend hours sitting in my officemonster chair at my desk once I get stuck into my writing work. It really is the most comfortable seat in my home.

Anyway, the good news is, these particular scents come in votives, 2-wick candles, apothecary jars, fragrance beads and my beloved favorites – wax cubes.

This Sugarcoated Cinnamon fragrance inspired me to make some Cinnamon & Sugar Churros. See why you need candles in the kitchen? One sniff and the next thing you know, you are baking and making your house smell like a home. 🙂
