This decadent Apple Cream Cheese Bundt Cake with Praline Frosting is really moist, made with applesauce and chunks of fresh apples with a cream cheese center and topped with a Praline frosting.

What dessert most reminds you of the fall season?

I don’t know what it is about Bundt Cakes, but I looooove the looks of them.  Don’t you?

Apple Cream Cheese Bundt Cake Praline Frosting | Inspiration KitchenI think it’s their sexy, sassy shape (if one could call a Bundt Cake sexy).

They’re usually layered in a gorgeous, dripping frosting that slides down the sides like the perfect little black dress.  Or, they’re delicately sprinkled with powdered sugar that dances on it’s curvy sides like glitter and diamonds.

Apple Cream Cheese Bundt Cake Praline Frosting | Inspiration KitchenI don’t know why, but Bundt Cakes always remind me of fall.  I’m so inspired by the totally awesome Bundt Cake pans that take design and shape to a whole new level.

Mine is sort-of boring, looking like a big, flowery doughnut.  That’s ok, we like doughnuts, right?  🙂

This cake is sssooo moist from 1 and 1/2 cups of applesauce, chunks of chopped, juicy apples, and filled with cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice.  And walnuts.  Don’t forget the chopped walnuts.

Apple Cream Cheese Bundt Cake Praline Frosting | Inspiration KitchenAll your fall flavors make an appearance in this gorgeous cake!  But wait, it get’s better…  🙂

p.s.  this is starting to sound like an infomercial!

The center is swirled with a rich, decadent cream cheese filling that pairs beautifully with the apples.  And to top it off, it’s adorned with a sweet, sugary Praline frosting that drizzles beautifully down the side.

See?  It’s like jewelry.

Want to swoon with me?

Yes, this Bundt Cake is one sexy, sassy cake.  And, it tastes great too.

Go ahead.  Grab a fork.  Try it.  I’ll wait…

Apple Cream Cheese Bundt Cake Praline Frosting | Inspiration KitchenMmmm hmmm.  Told ya.

I’m thinking this little number is going to have to make an appearance at my holiday table this year.

You know…just to impress the guests!  🙂

Ingredients

CREAM CHEESE FILLING

  • 1 8-oz. package light cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup butter softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

APPLE CAKE BATTER

  • 1 cup finely chopped walnuts
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 3 large eggs lightly beaten
  • 1 and 1/2 cups applesauce
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups peeled and finely chopped apples about 1 1/2 lb.

PRALINE FROSTING:

  • 1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

Cream Cheese Filling

  • Beat first 3 ingredients at medium speed with an electric mixer until blended and smooth. Add egg, flour, and vanilla; beat just until blended.

Apple Cake Batter

  • Preheat oven to 350º. Stir together 3 cups flour and next 7 ingredients in a large bowl; stir in eggs and next 3 ingredients, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened. Stir in apples and chopped walnuts.
  • Spoon two-thirds of apple mixture into a greased and floured 14-cup Bundt pan. Spoon Cream Cheese Filling over apple mixture, leaving a 1-inch border around edges of pan. Swirl filling through apple mixture using a paring knife. Spoon remaining apple mixture over Cream Cheese Filling.
  • Bake at 350º for 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes or until a long wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool cake in pan on a wire rack 15 minutes; remove from pan to wire rack, and cool completely (about 2 hours).

Praline Frosting

  • Bring 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup butter, and 3 Tbsp. milk to a boil in a 2-qt. saucepan over medium heat, whisking constantly; boil 1 minute, whisking constantly. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Gradually whisk in powdered sugar until smooth; stir gently 3 to 5 minutes or until mixture begins to cool and thickens slightly. Pour immediately over cooled cake.

I love how you describe this cake — I’m about going crazy! I love bundt cakes, too — there’s just something about them — and they do remind me of fall. They’re just comfort food that can be dressed up or down. This cake is definitely dressed up with that luscious frosting, and the inside looks just as delicious. This is one beautiful cake that’s definitely worthy of the holiday table! It’s a showstoppah!

Hm, the dessert which reminds me most of fall is definitely something apple – apple pie or Danish apple cake (which isn’t a cake – more like a triffle). Or just apple cake – like this delicious one. Thanks for sharing!
