An all-time classic – simple, easy-to-make Apple Crisp with soft, juicy, flavorful apples with a crisp crumble top.
Today’s question is: What is your favorite Apple recipe?
Meet The Husband’s favorite dessert.
A simple, easy-to-throw-together Apple Crisp.
This is how it looks before baking. Not so crispy. We need to change that with a bit of oven action. 😉
And after baking, it gets a nice golden ‘crisp’ brown. That’s much better, don’t you think?
I wasn’t going to start pummeling you with apple recipes until September…but, whether we like it or not, fall is here.
See? Puffy orange proof right here.
These happy little chubsters made their grand entrance at the grocery store on 8/22. And, fall doesn’t even officially start until September 22nd!
Talk about being early to the party. 🙂 At least they’re a jovial bunch!
With this post, I just need to warn you ~ I’m not even {thisclose} to being done with my apple recipes yet. I just got started! Are you sure you’re ready for apple recipes galore???
I’ll let the grocery store continue to push pumpkins. There’s plenty of time for pumpkin recipes later. 🙂
I have to admit, I was almost tempted to take the little cone head one home. He looks like he’d fit in here ~ he’s so happy! Then, I could say all proud-like “Yea, that’s my kid, there in the middle!” 🙂
Enjoy!

Sara {Home is Where The Cookies Are} says
Lol. I kind of can’t believe apples recipes are showing up already! But, then, I totally can. I just was contemplating one this morning. I guess maybe we’re feeling that way because school has started?? I don’t know – it’s still hot as hades around here – I have no explanation for my fall cravings! Apple crisp is a fave of mine. I started drooling when I saw it! 😉
Kristi says
Thanks Sara! I thought it was early for apples too – but my little tree that could is already dropping them off the tree. I don’t want to waste them so I have a dozen apple recipes made already! 🙂 I’m so glad this made you drool! Have a beautiful week!

Lindsey @ American Heritage Cooking says
So maybe Fall is there in the Pacific Northwest but down here in The South, it’s friggin’ HOT! And there were no organic granny smith apples at the market this weekend. Not one! How is a food blogger supposed to deal?!?!
How am I supposed to make this apple crisp without a decent tart apple?! This is a tragedy. So this is my passive-agressive way of saying, “Send me some apples, please!” I can’t wait for your other apple recipes to start rollin’ in especially if they look half as scrumptious as this one! Pinned!
Kristi says
Hahahahaha! I think Miss Lindsey that you should fly out here, enjoy a bit of crisp air, have a bit of Apple Crisp AND come to IFBC with me. Thank you for the pin, darling, but you really need to get yourself over here, because girl I miss you already! 🙂 {Hugs!}
Ruby @ The Ruby Red Apron says

Lorraine @ Not Quite Nigella says
It would definitely have to be something like this! While I love apples, I love the crisp top just that bit more! 😛
Kristi says
You and I are alike Lorraine! Give me a crispy top any time – the apples are optional. Hahaha!
