This Chicken Cordon Bleu Dip is an ooey-gooey, cheesy, smoky, warm and comforting fall favorite. You will love this incredibly rich, indulgent and flavorful twist on a classic recipe in an appetizer bite.
This is what I call a ‘scoop and score’ recipe. Who doesn’t like a good score? 🙂
Did you all watch the football game on Sunday?
If you had, you’d know ‘scoop and score’ is a play where one team fumbles the ball and the other team scoops it up to make a touchdown. Let’s just say, it makes for a great game – especially when it benefits your team!
Not a football fan?
That’s cool too, because you’ll have this incredible Chicken Cordon Bleu Dip that is going to demand your entire attention anyway. Ham has a way of making you sit up and pay attention. 🙂
I don’t know about you, but out of all the meat selections at the deli counter, Black Forest Ham is my absolute favorite. There is just something so fall about the strong, comforting taste of the pork and the rich, smoky flavor that Black Forest Ham always brings.
And when it’s paired with decadent and rich Gruyere cheese, it’s heavenly! It makes this dip an ooey, gooey, cheesy bit of goodness that you won’t be able to resist.
What I love about ham is, that it’s so versatile and can be used in a variety of dishes. I’m thinking breakfast quiches, sandwiches, dips, fluffy baked ham and cheese biscuits, ham and potato casseroles or snuggly wrapped and served inside a chicken breast (like Chicken Cordon Bleu)!
But, why go to all that work, when you can make this quick and easy delectable dip? 🙂
No matter what recipe you choose, Black Forest Ham is a great choice because it has a smoked flavor that is so prominent, it makes itself the star of the dish.
Don’t you love bold flavors that aren’t afraid to shine?
My #1 Smoke House rule? I make sure we have ham around the house all the time, because it’s smoky goodness is so perfect for snacking!
Rule #2 of Smoke House rules asks “What’s the best Boar’s Head sandwich you’ve ever made?” For us, it’s a sandwich that we have at a local pub called ‘The Hummer’, which is loaded with ham, roast beef and pastrami, then covered in cheese and heated until melted. Heaven on a plate, let me tell you. 🙂
We’ve done that sandwich at home so many times, I can’t even tell you…
For this recipe, you’ll want to use Boar’s Head SmokeMaster™ Beechwood Smoked™ Black Forest Ham, which has a great smoky flavor, which is so perfect for this dish. This ham is crafted with the finest ingredients and exceptional care, and is naturally smoked with imported German beechwood, resulting in a ham that has a delicious, distinct flavor that is rich and smooth.
