Wow, oh wow, are you going to love this summertime smoothie!
It’s light, creamy, crisp with just a bit of tartness. It reminds me of biting into a juicy pineapple – but it has no pineapple in it. 🙂
We absolutely lllooovvveeeddd this smoothie and I think you will too. With summertime quickly approaching (well, at least for some of us!), there can never be a shortage of good refreshing smoothies to start your day off right!
I am always looking for ways to get flaxseed into my diet and I’ve found that hiding them in smoothies is the perfect way to get my daily intake. If you don’t have flaxseed on hand, feel free to omit it.
The recipe below makes a smoothie that will serve 2 of you!
Enjoy!
Grape & Banana Smoothie

- 1/2 cup green grapes about 20 qty.

- Add all ingredients to a blender and liquefy until completely blended and smooth.
- Serve!

Happy Easter friend xoxo
Kristi says
Thanks Johlene – I love my mason jars 🙂 I use them for everything (drinks, as a vase, to store things). I’m not quite sure what I’d do without them! Have a beautiful weekend!

Oh! And I bought some shrimp yesterday and I’m getting really excited to make your bbq shrimp app! Hubs is out of town so they are ALL FOR ME!!!!!
Kristi says
GIRLS NIGHT!!!!! I’m coming over!!! 🙂 I’ll bring the wine. Hahaha!
Lindsey @ American Heritage Cooking says
I WISH!!! I have a sneaking suspicion that would involve a plane 🙁
Kristi says
I’m down for a plane ride. 🙂 But, I think we might have to much fun! Our husbands would never let us spend time together again! Hahaha!
Lindsey @ American Heritage Cooking says
Do it!!!! We can gorge ourselves on apps and desserts and wine to our hearts content! If future girls nights are going to be banned by the Hubs then we’d better make it count! 😉
Kristi says
Hahaha! Agreed! I love it! 🙂
Shelley @ Two Healthy Kitchens says
Hey, Kristi! This refreshing smoothie sure looks like summer (in an adorable Mason jar with super-cute paper straws!!!). I don’t think I’ve ever tried grapes in a smoothie, although I have no idea why! I love grapes! Pinning … can’t wait to try this (also can’t wait for summer, but that’s another story!) 😀
Kristi says
I love grapes too – and they made an awesome addition to the smoothie! It made the flavor so crisp! Next time, I’m going to try it with frozen grapes and less ice. 😉
Kelly says
I love hiding flax seeds in smoothies too and this one looks so refreshing! I’ve never tried adding grapes in my smoothies before but love that idea and can’t wait to try it next time 🙂
Kristi says
The green grapes give it a fresh, crisp taste that you just can’t duplicate with any other fruit. Enjoy!

You know how much I love smoothies and this one looks delicious! I love that it’s simple and healthy. Now all I need is to be drinking it beach side. 😉
Kristi says
I think drinking it beachside sounds like the perfect idea. Have a great week Tina!
Toni | BoulderLocavore says
In so intrigued that it tastes like biting into a pineapple without any in the recipe! I don’t use grapes in smoothies enough. And like you I try to get chia seeds into my diet (like flax in yours); I need to throw them in smoothies more often. This sounds so refreshing….and like vacation!
Kristi says
Toni – vacation is the perfect explanation for this smoothie! What’s great about it is, you can freeze the grapes and use them when you need them – and they’re already cold for the smoothie! So glad you like it!
