Don’t you all agree that football season is a time that brings friends and family together, whether it’s to celebrate the Big Game or share in game time traditions?

Below I share Game Time Organizing Tips that will help ease the stress and labor you put into hosting a game time party. One of those tips is prepping your ingredients in advance, so that come time to serve your guests, everything is pre-measured and on hand to quickly heat and serve.
Depending on how many guests you’re serving, you can either cut the mushrooms in half, or saute them whole – but you do want them big enough that guests can easily grab them with serving picks!
You’ll love that this dish is fast and easy to make! Personally, I keep several bottles of El Yucateco® in my pantry, because I use it all the time in a variety of dishes. El Yucateco® is the #1 authentic habanero hot sauce, so regardless of which flavor you choose, they truly are the King of Flavor. 🙂 Don’t you love a sauce that’s so versatile?
The Red Habanero Hot Sauce is made with fresh red habanero peppers, tomato, and select spices and seasonings. It is the perfect “all purpose” sauce. It packs a little more kick then the average hot sauce but with far less vinegar, so you get the true flavor of the pepper when you add this sauce to any dish. This sauce is a great fit for everything from a Bloody Mary to Shrimp Cocktail or Wings.
What you’ll love most about the sauces is, they bring just the right amount of heat that brings incredible flavor enhancement to any food you’re serving. And, it’s perfect for all kinds of game time appetizers like hot wings, sliders, meatballs, dips, etc.
What you will love about this particular recipe, is that it couldn’t be any easier and you will impress your guests for serving an appetizer that they didn’t expect.
They’re going to love these Habanero Sauteed Mushrooms so much, they might even forget about the game! 🙂 Memorable recipe win!
Here are a few tips to organize the best tailgating and homegating dining experiences during the Big Game.
Game Time Organizing Tips:
Tip 1: Prep all ingredients and recipes that you can in advance
Prepping all your ingredients is a huge time-saver on the day of the game! Otherwise known as mise en place (French pronunciation: [mi zɑ̃ ˈplas]) is a French culinary phrase which means “putting in place” or “everything in its place.” In addition, plan to serve these types of appetizers that can be prepped in advance: Dips: hummus dip, olive tapenades, salsas, avocado dip, veggies. Finger-Foods: crock-pot meatballs, wings, sliders, chips.
Tip 2: Create a bar-style serving station so guests can put it together themselves
What I love about the bar-style serving station at parties is that (a) it’s easier (and less stressful) on the host and (b) it’s interactive and fun for guests! This style of entertaining enables you, the host, to rest, relax and enjoy the festivities along with everyone else. And, to get you started, here are a few great appetizer ideas for bar-style serving: tacos, sandwiches, trail mix, bruschetta bar, sandwiches.
Tip 3: Serve as many finger-foods you can
Finger foods are great for entertaining. You can prepare them in advance, set them out on platters, and let guests serve themselves. They’re the perfect set-and-forget appetizer!
I know you want to get started planning your next party, so be sure to look for El Yucateco® products available nationwide at your local grocer and at specialty Hispanic stores. I found mine in the Hispanic Foods section at my local Walmart.
Note: Mexican Oregano is fantastic in this dish, and is not the same as regular Oregano. It shares the basic pungent flavor of regular Oregano, but it’s a completely different spice that has notes of citrus (and a slight licorice flavor), that pairs beautifully with cumin – which makes these Habanero Sauteed Mushrooms so good. If you can’t find it at your local grocer, you can find it at specialty stores (Spanish, Hispanic)!
Enjoy!

Thanks Adriana! If you love spicy, you will love these mushrooms. A friend suggested they’d be great in eggs, on top of steak, etc. – so I’ll be trying that too!
