Happy New Year’s Eve everyone! Here’s to wishing you a healthy and happy 2013.
This drink looks a little tipsy, don’t you think? I mean, I’m gettin’ dizzy just lookin’ at it and I haven’t even tasted it yet.
With all the lights, camera, stars and action in the background…There’s a whole lot of pomp and circumstance goin’ on. Festive, right?
I have to admit I felt a bit like that tipsy drink you see there when we went to Ikea to pick up some props today. For the life of me, I couldn’t keep that drunken cart on the path. As if the long, wind-y aisles weren’t a big enough challenge for me, Ikea went and put four 360-degree, swivel wheels on their carts!
Now I know that it’s been years since I’ve been to Ikea, so maybe my memory fails me, but I didn’t remember that their shopping carts had wheels that went this way and that, then thatwayandthis and thiswayandthat and the do-the-hokey-pokey-turn-yourself-around direction.
So, get this.
Here I am…lost and concentrating hard, trying to navigate the huge “YOU ARE HERE” map with a disobedient, out-of-control, pyscho cart that seemingly self-careens and stumbles drunkingly through the over-crowded aisles trying to run people over.
All while I’m trying to concentrate.
Does this ever happen to anyone else?
I swear – I think I was almost thrown in jail today. I wished ya’all would’ve been there, because I was in serious need of a witness and an alibi. It wasn’t me, I swear…it was the cart!
And noooo…in case you’re wondering…I hadn’t had a drop to drink.
Seriously, those things should come with a pre-qualified commercial driver’s license.
So, clearly unable to handle the situation, I handed that disgraceful, unruly cart to the husband, who managed to entertain himself by going sideways down the aisles.
Thank goodness it’s New Years Eve. Someone (please!) needs to bring on the big-girl drinks. Because, I think I’ve had just about all the pomp and circumstance I can handle in a day. After all…it’s not every day you get a ‘get out of jail free’ card.
Enjoy! And, please say safe on this holiday!
Blessings for the New Year. May this be your best year yet.
