This Sour Cream Banana Bread is rich, moist and sweet ~ filled with crunchy walnuts and packed with banana flavor topped with a crumbly, sugary struesel. Sugared loaf pans make all the difference!
Oh my gosh…I am dying for you to try this Banana Bread. Each and every one of you!
One word.
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.
All caps-worthy. Really.
See that sugared loaf pan? Yep. You need that. It’s coating the entire outside of that bread. Sugar in every luscious bite.
Rich, sweet, moist. Seriously amazing.
Two decadent loaves. One recipe.
Eat one now. Eat the other later. Like one for breakfast, and one for dinner.
Other than the mouth-watering banana flavor, the sour cream makes this Banana Bread so moist – and it is full of chewy walnuts. The buttery, sugary crumble top though is an absolute must have.
You might be wondering about this next photo. I included it to show you that when you cream the butter and sugar together that they won’t be creamy – it will be crumbly like this. That’s OK!
That struesel top will call your name. Listen for it.
Plan to cut yourself at least
2, no 3, nevermind 4 decadent slices. You deserve them. And, they deserve you. 🙂
Or, grab a fork and eat it straight out of the pan. I won’t judge. I pinky swear promise.
If you’ve never read my fondest memory of B-A-N-A-N-A B-R-E-A-D, you really should. It’s a laugh and a half. But not nearly as good as this Sour Cream Banana Bread. I want you to try it!
Enjoy!
p.s. tell your friends.

Wow, this banana bread looks amazing. I have one recipe for a bread where you sugary the pan and it is phenomenal, so I know this has to be fantastic with banana bread. I’ve got some bananas ready to be used. My guys can eat banana bread all day, so two loaves will actually give me a chance to enjoy it too 😀
Kristi says
Perfect! One for the little ones – and one for you. I say that’s the perfect recipe, no? 😉

This looks fantastic … so rich and comforting! I love the sugared loaf pan trick! It’s just perfect for sweet desserts and quick breads! And I love that you included the method shot so we could see how “creamed” doesn’t necessarily look creamy – so helpful! 😀
Kristi says
Thanks Shelley! Yes, I felt I had to show the “creamed” shot, because it wasn’t creamy at all – yet the banana bread was amazing! Enjoy!

Holy smokes, this banana bread looks out of this world! I am a total sucker for streusel topping and adding one to banana bread is genius! And so is sugaring the pan first. Forget about eating one first and saving the other loaf for dinner – I would be tempted to eat both in one sitting haha – it sounds amazing girl! Pinning!
Kristi says
Hahahaha! Eating them in one sitting sounds like a fabulous idea! And, thanks for the pin!
