Have you heard of vacation brain?

Spicy BBQ Beer Shrimp | Inspiration Kitchen-4943I haven’t either, but I’m pretty sure it exists.  Because I haven’t been able to concentrate enough to get it together to post to the blog this week.

I blame it on a relaxing and much needed vacation.  But I woke up today rejuv’ed and ready to write! 🙂

And, I’m bringing with me one of the easiest, quickest, fastest appetizers ever. Only 5 ingredients!!!

Spicy BBQ Beer Shrimp | Inspiration Kitchen-4963

I’ve mentioned before how much I lllooovvveee experiment nights. All my creative culinary juices get going and I never quite know what’s going to come out of the kitchen.  But typically, it’s very, very tasty. 🙂

Spicy BBQ Beer Shrimp | Inspiration Kitchen-4979

And you know how much I love apps!  A serving for two is perfect for sharing.  You can make (or order!) lots of the things on the menu and try many new and exciting things!

This recipe combines dark beer with your favorite barbeque sauce with jalapenos and garlic (and shrimp!!!) to create a rich, buttery sauce with a spicy BBQ flavor.  When served with slices of soft chewy bread for dipping – it is the perfect appetizer for 2.  It really is fabulous and gives a great belly heat when using a spicy BBQ sauce.  Don’t like spice?  That’s OK too!  It tastes fabulous with a sweet BBQ sauce also!

Aren’t vacations the best?! It’s so easy for the lazy side of to set in? Although, I like to say I’m relaxing vs. being lazy 😀
Kristi, this looks so delicious! I just love shrimp prepared any and all ways. This would be perfect for our light Friday dinner.

I’m loving your cooking experiment nights, too! I love a recipe with a short ingredient list even more than a quick one. And I love shrimp ever which way. This looks great – perfect for a little tapas party…or just any ole time! : )

Thanks Monica! I’m so glad you love experiment nights. They are one of my favorites. I stand in front of the pantry, arms crossed thinking “what the heck am I going to make with that?” It’s like one of those shows where you get a basket of crazy and are expected to make something of it! Hahaha!

I’m so glad you’re back! I’ve missed you…and checked your site compulsively just in case Bloglovin’ messed up! I fully admit that I have a problem.

{Gasp!} I love this easy app idea!!! I can’t wait to whip it up the next time I have dark beer in my fridge which will be next week when Hubs gets back! 🙂 Or do you think Guinness would work? That’s all I have.

Aww! You’re my fav’s (don’t tell anyone else, they might get jealous!). Waiting for Hubs because I’m too lazy to go to the ABC store to get the kind we like!! lol! I’ll try Guinness because otherwise it will just languish on the shelf for a year.

Shrimp is my go-to favorite protein. I get the big bags at Costco and they are so fast, easy and simple to use in nearly anything.
