Chocolate Chip Cookies With Walnuts

These Chocolate Chip Cookies With Walnuts are the perfect mix of crunchy and chewy with perfectly crisp edges, a soft chewy center and filled with rich, decadent, dark chocolate and buttery walnuts.

  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons hot water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 10-ounce bag 60% Cacao bittersweet chocolate chips*
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts


  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Cream together butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time and beat until thoroughly blended Then, stir in the vanilla. Dissolve baking soda in hot water. Add baking soda mixture and salt to the batter and mix well. Stir in flour one cup at a time, then gently fold in chocolate chips and nuts. Using a cookie scoop or teaspoon, drop by large spoonfuls onto baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 10 minutes or until edges are nicely browned.


*I use Ghirardelli brand chocolate chips.
