Easy French Dip Sandwiches


  • 1 10.5 ounce can beef consomme
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 pound roast beef thinly sliced
  • 8 slices provolone cheese thinly sliced
  • 4 hoagie rolls split open


  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Open hoagie rolls, and place on baking sheet. Set aside.
  • Mix consomme and water in a saucepan and heat over medium heat.
  • Place the beef in the consomme and heat 30 seconds to 1 minute. Arrange the meat on each hoagie roll distributing evenly. Place 2 slices of provolone cheese on each sandwich.
  • Bake the sandwiches open faced in the pre-heated oven just until the cheese melts.
  • Remove sandwiches from oven and serve with small bowls of the warm broth for dipping.
